Stephanie’s tumblr handle is Bookavore, so for her picture we made it literal. The set and the skirt I built from her discarded piles of publishers’ proofs—no digital manipulation was involved. The “book blood” was squid ink, not particularly tasty in its pure form. Stephanie was a trooper!

I have no words for how much I like everything about this.

Quick ‘n Easy Veggie DipServes 4
One of my go-to favorite snacks is an easy homemade dip served with veggies. I frequently whip these puppies up for myself. They are also great for unexpected guests or casual hangouts with friends, because I almost always have all of the ingredients on hand. I have never thought much of it. Granny used to make little dips on the fly all the time too. But for some reason, as simple as this type of dip is, it is always a big hit and I have been asked on a number of occasions, “Well, I get that you just ‘whipped it up,’ but what did you put in it?” So I decided to take note and formulate it into a recipe. You can think of this as a general guideline. Any combination of your favorite herbs and spices will work great.
INGREDIENTS
1 cup plain Greek yogurt
1/2 teaspoon vegan Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon low-sodium soy sauce (or 1/4 teaspoon Bragg’s Liquid Aminos)
1 teaspoon nutritional yeast flakes
1 teaspoon garlic powder
3/4 teaspoon dried dill
1/2 teaspoon dried yellow mustard
1/4 teaspoon Beau Monde Seasoning or celery salt
1/8 teaspoon chili powder
course salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
sliced raw veggies for dipping
INSTRUCTIONS
Step One: Place yogurt in a medium bowl and add remaining ingredients. Mix well and serve immediately, or cover and refrigerate until ready to serve. (The dip often tastes better after the flavors have a chance to mingle).

Korean food is one of my favorite foreign cuisines. It’s definitely my favorite that’s widely available in the US.

It’s fairly inexpensive and generally really well balanced nutritionally. At it’s best, it’s completely unpretentious and delicious…

Poetry is the journal of the sea animal living on land, wanting to fly in the air. Poetry is a search for syllables to shoot at the barriers of the unknown and the unknowable. Poetry is a phantom script telling how rainbows are made and why they go away.
